Tap was created combining elements of African drumming and dancing with the techniques of European Clog and Step dancing. Percussive footwork distinguishes Tap from all other forms of dance based on. Students will learn rhythm, coordination and self-awareness through technical tap steps and fun, lively choreography.

The Season

The 1st semester of the 2017/18 season begins on Tuesday, September 5th, 2017. The 2nd semester begins on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2018. The season ends on Saturday, June 16th, 2018 (the date of our final recital performance). Unless otherwise noted, classes run the entire season (September to June) provided minimum enrollment is maintained.

Initial fees are due at the time of registration. Initial fees include the first month's tuition, a $25 registration fee per student, and a $40 costume fee per student/per class (costumes are provided for annual recital performances). Future tuition fees are then due on the 1st of each subsequent month. Listed fees (tuition, costume, and registration) DO NOT include GST, taxes are additional. Families will be discounted for multiple students/classes.

Flat Rate Billing

Tuition fees are processed monthly, due on the 1st of each month. Tuition fees are flat rate, meaning you pay the same per month regardless of how many classes you attend. Tuition fees are calculated by determining the total cost of the season, minus all studio closures, divided equally across the period between September 2017 and June 2018. Note that all closures are subtracted prior to the calculation of tuition, thus reducing the average cost per month.

Costume Fee

We have experienced, professional seamstresses who do all of the work on your behalf--no sewing required! These costumes are rentals, to be worn during recital. The $40 fee covers both annual performances ($20 per recital, per class). Some classes do NOT require a costume fee (highland and adult classes, for example). Classroom attire remains the responsibility of the student.

When multiple classes share the same name, each class is assigned a number (in brackets). For instance, Junior Ballet (1) and Junior Ballet (2). These numbers exist only to differentiate the classes on the schedule and have no impact on student placement.
